Ophthalmology Techs have the opportunity to vote on updated job descriptions as well as an updated wage scale as part of career ladder negotiations. If approved, these changes would update our job descriptions to reflect our current practices, eliminate the OA I level and move techs currently on that level to OAII, establish a Certified Ophthalmic Medical Technologist (COMT) level and corresponding wage scale, create a $3.50/hr OR differential, clarify Ophthalmic Photographer coverage compensation, cover exam costs for two attempts at COT or COMT certification.
